Introduction

AMPLA Limited is bound by the National Privacy Principles set out in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (as amended).  AMPLA Limited does not give out personal information about members except as mentioned below, and personal information in our database is protected.  AMPLA Limited does not collect personal information except when it is knowingly provided by members.

Information Collection

AMPLA Limited collects members' personal information to enable it or third parties to provide membership services and benefits, maintain membership and service/benefit records, provide information and to conduct research to enable the identification and creation of services for the benefit of members. Primary services provided by AMPLA Limited to members are:

* professional publications

* professional development programs

* research and information services.

Information Use and Disclosure

AMPLA Limited uses and discloses members' personal information ( such as members' name and contact details) for the purpose of providing the above services to members or for commercial purposes where it has obtained the consent of members.  Such commercial purposes may include the sale of mailing lists by AMPLA Limited to third party mailing houses, or the disclosure of personal information to its sponsors under sponsor ship agreements.

AMPLA Limited will not disclose members' personal information to others without the member's consent unless such disclosure is authorised or required by law.

AMPLA Limited will not use email addresses or messages submitted to its web site (with the domain name www.ampla.org) for any purpose other than the purpose for which they are submitted and will not disclose them to third parties without the consent of the individual concerned.

Members who are on the National Board, participate in Committees, Branches or belong to a special interest group (such as the P(SL)A reference group)  may have their contract information published on the web site and other publications.

Data Security

When it collects personal information, AMPLA Limited takes reasonable steps to keep that information secure and to protect that personal information from misuse or loss and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.  AMPLA takes reasonable steps to keep personal information accurate, complete and up-to-date.

When using the web site you should be aware that no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed as totally secure.  Although it strives to protect such information, AMPLA Limited does not warrant the security of any information transmitted to it over the Internet and you do so at your own risk.

Access, Corrections and Further Information

If a member wishes to review or make corrections to their personal information, she or he may do so by contacting AMPLA Limited on the details below during normal business hours.  If a member requires information about the way it manages their personal information, or has any queries, problems, or complaints she or he should contact AMPLA by calling (03) 9670 2544 and ask to speak to the Executive Director or email: federal@ampla.org.
