Welcome to the website of AMPLA Limited, the Resources and Energy Law Association.
AMPLA is a not-for-profit association established in 1976 to advance the knowledge of law relating to mineral and petroleum resources. Over recent years the interests of AMPLA have extended to include climate change, emissions trading, the environment, native title and all legal aspects of energy production and marketing.
To further its educational objectives AMPLA funds research and offers a number of university course prizes throughout Australia. AMPLA sponsors numerous state branch workshops, seminars and an annual national conference which rotates around state capital cities. On an occasional basis, AMPLA provides lectures and short form tertiary courses in conjunction with university law schools.
The flagship publication of AMPLA, the Australian Resources and Energy Law Journal is produced in association with the Centre for Resources, Energy and Environmental Law of The University of Melbourne, the Centre for Mining, Energy and Natural Resources Law of The University of Western Australia and the School of Law of The University of Waikato. The Journal is published in three parts annually and is entirely free to members.
Members of AMPLA are interested in law review and participate in numerous committees to comment on relevant reform proposals and regulation.
